I charge £15 per hour (£7.50 per ½ hour) for research. There are no hidden charges for preparation time or time spent writing reports.
Photocopies are charged at cost price. This is usually about £1 per copy but can vary depending on the repository. Digital photos are £1 each.
I charge 30p per mile plus any parking charges. Examples of current rates for return journeys are:- Northumberland Archives = Parking charges only. Tyne & Wear Archives = £9 Durham Records Office = £22 Carlisle Records Office = £44 North Yorkshire Records Office = £47 These are the main repositories, but there are many other Local History centres and libraries in northern England. If your research requires a visit to a repository not listed above, I can give you a quote on request.
Basic charge £200 but it can be specially tailored to individual requirements.
